Vitam Hefe-Produkt-GmbH

VITAM has manufactured tasty, vegetarian health foods (spreads, soups, seasonings and baking ingredients) since 1925. The company has currently 50 employees. Since the 1990s Vitam produces spreads and today has a market share of 2% of the German market for vegetable spreads.

VITAM has developed substantial expertise in full-value nutrition and as a member of the health food association has excellent marketing experience and well functioning sales channels in many European countries. VITAM is committed to promoting health and saving the natural environment. Since 1985 organically grown ingredients play an important role in the production of Vitam products so that most of the ingredients that are used today are certified as organically grown.

Vitam will develop cholesterol-lowering spreads in this project. They have the experience in production and marketing of vegetable spreads as well as the production facilities for a successful development. From the exploitation of the project’s results, Vitam wants to achieve a stronger market position in the spreads sector. They expect a very prompt launching of the new cholesterol-lowering products due to their well developed marketing knowledge and sales channels. So, they estimate a growth rate of 250.000 Euros already in the first year with a possible raise up to 2 Mio Euro in the following years. Whereas Peter Schimunek, managing director, co-ordinates the project and Ulrike Schimunek, food technologist, is responsible for the development of spreads, Ulrike Schimunek-Schneider, marketing director, takes care of the suitable marketing strategy.
