Recheis produces dry and fresh pasta products. It was founded in 1846 and today has 100 employees. The pasta products are sold in three main sectors: customer, gastronomy and industrial, mainly in Austria, but also in Europe and Northern America. The company is market leader in Austria with a market share of approx. 35%.
The basic strategic orientation of the company is the combination of tradition and innovation. That is why Recheis enjoys an excellent reputation as innovative company, and gained several awards for the best product launch of the year. There are currently 4 employees working for research and development of new products, e.g. whole grain pasta.
In this project, Recheis will develop cholesterol-lowering pasta products. The company wants to launch the new-developed products within six months after development. During that time, packaging and marketing can be realised. After a positive product launch, Recheis expects a possible market growth of 10%. In the beginning of the launch, Recheis wants to sell the new products nationally and partly Europe-wide. Later, marketing overseas in the Northern American markets is aimed. The in the US commonly purchased “low cholesterol and no fat” products seem to be a good market to purchase the new developed cholesterol-lowering products. Stefan Recheis, managing director, will co-ordinate the activities within Recheis, whereas Dr. Heinz Innerhofer, biologist and head of QM, Peter Sieberer, head of production and Harald Schürz, product developer, will together develop the cholesterol lowering pasta.
